Hi, im new to the aite and am looking for some advice. This summer i had a roofer replace a flat roof and section of facia sofit and guttering. When i had a look at the work the old bitumen felt (which was frayed at the edges anyway) ended inside the sofit. I questiined this and asked if an eaves tray should be fitted due to the condition of the felt. The builder said no.

A section of the sofit board runs above the flat roof timber board inside the loft and it seems that water has collected on the sofit and driped onto the newly replaced flat roof timber which in turn has leaked and soaled the roofing timbers.

I asked the builder and he said it was probably just condensation, but the timbers were soaked.

My question is, have they just a half arsed job? Initially i asked it it needed eaves trays and a new run of felt but that wasnt fitted or suggested.

Any help would be appreciated. I have attached pictures to show the sofit over the roof board and how the roofing felt drops down into the sofit.
