Boiler change – Advice please

My present boiler is a Glow-worm Ultimate 50BF. It does Central Heating only, 11 Rads, on two floors. All Rads have TRV’s - Expansion tank in loft - Very simple programmer which I really only use as an On/Off switch. No Roomstat. DHW is by Economy7, which I am happy with and would like to keep.
I would like to have a new boiler fitted keeping the set-up exactly the same, I’m thinking of a Heat-Only boiler such as the Potterton Gold.
My question is could I just have a straight swap of the boiler, or would the C/H system also need any major modifications. If it is necessary to modify the system what sort of work would be required?
Any advice much appreciated.

You would need to get a pump overun cable from the boiler to the pump. Also to comply with part L building regulations you should get a room stat fitted (wireless would be easier to install) also thermostatic radiator valves should be installed (minimum is just the bedrooms) they cannot force you to comply with part L but it is strongly reccommended to.

The flues are smaller so you will need to make up the old balanced flue hole

Also you will need a drain or soakaway to get rid of the condensate from the boiler (it can be pumped if there is no drain nearby)

Apart from that it is just a straight swop.

Shouldn't need pump overrun with that model. It's a Potterton branded Baxi Solo HE which can work with SL, N & E.

Thanks very much for your advice, it sounds good to me.
Just one more thing, I read somewhere that the system would need Zone Valves to bring it up to date, I assume that means a Diverter Valve to separate the Ground Floor from the 1st Floor circuits. Is this necessary?

It is only compulsary to zone the system if it is a complete new install. You don't have to do it on a boiler swap.

However it is a good idea to do it if the pipes to the upstairs circuit are easily accessable to put a zone valve on. Obviously you would also need an extra room stat for the upstairs as well.
