We are doing a full renovation. We plan to have a wall of tall kitchen units. There is a brick masonry wall behind, however we planned to have a service void of around 5cm behind the kitchen units for pipes, wires, etc. For the cupboard which will have the boiler in it, does this need to have no service void, and instead have the back of the cupboard flush against the brick wall? Otherwise I don't see how the boiler could be fixed to the masonry if there was a 5cm gap behind the kitchen cabinet...
Also, I guess this would mean the kitchen unit needs to be installed before we mount the boiler. Is there anyway we can connect the boiler 'off the wall' temporarily - e.g. to run the UFH to warm the space slightly in winter while workers are in there. Or even just to test the UFH!
