What make,What model....No there is no pilot light. Have you recently ran out of oil?

What happens when you press the lock out light? The motor should run for a few seconds to purge the boiler with fresh air before the ignition spark and oil is switched on.

I'm wondering how long it ran for after the oil was filled...a few minutes maybe?
Things to do.
Undo the flexible oil pipe where the pipe enters the oil pump. (Turn the oil off first). Bleed off a couple of litres of oil or so into a container until you are sure there's no air left in the pipe, and then reconnect, valves open and try again.
You should really check the tank filter and any other filters in the line - there's a chance that they are grotty if there has been any muck stirred up in the tank.
After that, post back if you want if it still won't go, but we'll need the burner make, naturally.

it actually ran for about two weeks so dont think its that the burner make is ecoflam

OK but its still worth checking the state of the filters and at least checking that oil is reaching the burner.
You've probably read in other posts, but the main things to look at, before you start throwing parts at it, are the plastic encapsulated coil that sits on the oil pump and the condition of the photocell.
It really depends on whether you want to call in an OFTEC guy now or continue by yourself. Its also necessary to check the oil pump pressure.
You could, however, remove the burner from the boiler and check to see if raw kerosene has been squirted into the firebox. If its wet in there, it could be an electrode problem.
John :)

If its an Ecoflam burner, then you need to get an oil man in,cos they are carp in my opinion.
