I have a boiler to heat my hot water tank and my heating, it is not a combi boiler though. This morning my water was hardly hot at all, just warm even though the boiler had come on.

Any ideas of the first place to look, any simple things before calling plumber?

I have yet to try the heating to see if that works.

Any help would be appreciated

Many thanks

Paul

Check the cylinder stat is working. Turn it up which should turn on the boiler if working correctly. :D

How long had the boiler been on ? Check the obvious, is you prog set to have the boiler on enough to ensure it is hot in the morning ? Has someone changed it ?

You don't say how long the boiler had been on ! Long enough to heat the water ? and how long had it previously been off ?

The boiler comes on every morning for 1 hour, usually the water is very hot. I checked after one hour and it was luke warm.

I give up...... Why are you seeking advice here when you don't offer the information we are requesting to try and help you !

I turned the stat up and still no hot water. All the pipes by the water tank are hot, but the tank isn't?

Any ideas

Is it a control thermostat on the tank?

Please any ideas appreciated

I tried my heating last night and it didn't seem to work either. I recently moved into this house and have yet to use the heating.

The radiators were full of air when i tried to bleed them.

When I tried the boiler again this morning the pump woke us up making a whirring noise, could the pump be jammed? Why would it suddenly jam, it was fine the day before.

Does the pump control the hot water tank as well as the central heating?

Please help

Thanks

Paul
