Hi ladies & gents,

We've got hot rads upstairs and cold downstairs. Only thing i've done recently is turn off a rad to paint, and turn back on.

According to the posts on here i need to switch off all rads upstairs, and see if I get any heat downstairs. Is this correct? i'm gonna try that tomorrow.

Other suggestions are the pump. Is this easy enough to swap out myself, or do I need a boilerman round? The boiler is a Vulcan Continental, very old.

Thanks for all your help!

If the pump isolating valves shut ok and don't leak when you turn them, then an easy job.

If not a right pain in the proverbial for you.

Summs that one up Dave!

Did 2 pumps today. Gate valves didnt hold and 20 year old ballofixes did!
