We currently have a problem in that our thermostat was installed in a room (not by us) which never heats up so when the heating is running it never switches off. My wife switched the heating on before she went to work but not when she left the house and came home to find the house super warm.

Do you think there is likely to be any damage done to our boiler as the pump has been running all day and constantly firing?

I'm fully prepared for a larger than normal gas bill but not expensive repairs on top of Christmas.

Thanks guys. Boiler is a knackered old Ravenheat 820/20 which is due to be replaced in the new year with a new combi and wireless room stat etc.

Yes I'm looking forward to having this piece of junk removed.

In the meantime, does the rad in the room with the stat warm up at all?

No thats part of the problem. The stat was fitted into an old pantry (now a utlity room) which only has two pipes for the dining room radiator running down the wall.

I can't imagine why that put it in here as the other side of this wall has nothing on it and would be in a sensible place.
