Boiler servicing

It wasn't actually me but it could have been any one of many of us.

Had one recently where the guy was adamant the boiler had been serviced every year, but there was no getting the case off (wrap round type) without dismantling his kitchen cupboard. Of course nobody had ever done that.

would love to hear any BG engineers comments on this.....

A gas performance and safety report was the last I heard, once I repaired a leak on a gas hob subsequently trying to light the boiler.

The grey button would hardly move!

Customer INFORMED me that it was because the part was unavailable.

Laughable.

Yes i agree laughable indeed. I feel bad when you get old punters saying "oh i know my boiler is very old son they have told me that u cant get parts anymore" when the boiler is 10 ish years old and u clearly can get parts.

And sum of the crap they have on contract is another joke - boilers which are inaccesable to due cupboards, no ventilation on open flues, appliances which have never had a casing off in their life, blah blah blah. Does my head in big time.
