Out of the following list, which might be the best one for me? The OSG I already have, being of reasonable price.

BS7671 2004 regulations

Cook's commentary

Whitfields guide

The Which? book of wiring & lighting

As some on the forum already know, my background is marine (and dry-land) electronics; qualified at M.Eng level but I have (at least I think I have!) a good grasp of the basic principles of domestic power transmission and have done quite a lot of ham electrical repair/refit previously.
BAS - I know you what you recommended previously & thanks, but what if I had to choose just one?
for example - is the official 7671 document worth getting at all?

My personal opinion is that The BS 7671 is a must, this book is a collection of the regulations you should follow while doing electrical work in the UK. With the new 'Part P', regulations became law, and it is a criminal offence not to do so (unfortunately this book is not cheap, about £50).
Than you can select a book of instructions that you will find good for you, as each one of us might find different books best for them.
