Water goes into the powder draw and the powder/tablets disolve away but no water is going down into the drum so washing is dry, it just sits there doing nothing apart from the timer ticking down until the rinse cycle kicks in, then it rotates and fills with water as it should and completes the wash? any advise would be great.

Post the "E-number" on the door sticker. Bosch Classixx 1200 isn't enough information to identify the model.

Its a WF02467GB and the drum doesn't turn on any program now so I guess it might be the brushes in the motor, looks like its going to be the £36 ones and not the £8 judging by the WF number, for brushes that look identical thats a big price difference?

Either of these brushes will fit your machine http://www.espares.co.uk/parts?k=154740 Genuine Bosch brushes have a laminated construction with high quality carbon. They also have the correct brush spring pressure designed for this motor. Pattern brushes will do exactly the same job but they are not laminated & contain a lower quality carbon grade. They also tend to have a higher brush spring pressure than the originals. Original brushes prolong motor life, pattern brushes shorten it. That is the reason for the price difference....up to you which ones you go for.
