Hi,
Do we have any dishwasher experts today?
My Bosch dishwasher is about 6 years old. When water is entering, at several points during the cycle, the inlet valve doesn't just open once, it opens about 9 or 10 times. Is this a fault. It can be heard opening and closing sometimes once a second. The manual says a noisy valve is not a fault but why so many times?
Thanks,

Norsey

You have a blocked pressure chamber and transfer hose causing pulsing of the drain pump and inlet valve.

Thanks for that. Unfortunately I have never seen the inside of a dishwasher. At the moment all I think I know is that the pressure chamber is a plastic bottle and can be seen if I take off the panel on the left hand side.
If this is correct, is it easy to clean out any debris and the same for the pipe? Can I say that most people listening to my dishwasher cycle wouldn't notice there was a problem. I only notice it as the washer is timed to go off at 5.30am when I am in bed and I hear the valve knocking through the pipes.
Maybe I'm lazy, but getting the washer out and disconnecting it will be a chore in itself. Do you think there would be a problem if I just leave things as they are for a while to see if the problem gets better or worse. Also I wonder if a dishwasher cleaner ( calgon??) might help? What do you think?
