Bosch Dishwasher keeps tripping downstairs circuit

Not sure of the model of the dishwasher, but half way through the cycle the dishwasher stops suddenly and trips the downstairs circuit.

What could be causing this, the dishwasher or my electrics...what's the most likely?

The dishwasher has a fault.

Quite likely water getting onto an electrical connection, or it might be the heating element damaged.

It needs mending.

The RCD is correctly tripping when it detects the imbalance caused by the fault. It is trying to stop you being electrocuted.
