Hi

Can anyone help me with my AEG dishwasher?

Part way through the cycle it regularly trips either the circuit breaker it is plugged into or sometimes the main house fuse box (shutting down the electrics in the whole house).

I have - by trial and error - worked out that this doesn't happen if there is hot water in the tank i.e. it seems to happen if the dishwasher has to heat the water?

Any thoughts anyone?

heating element is probably faulty. this can happen with age or if damaged. Immersion heaters and oven elements can have the same problem.

if the d/wr is new enough to make it worthwhile, you could have it repaired. It is possible that there is some other fault such as wiring damage.

Cheers John

Dishwasher isn't new but a much loved AEG - with a internal layout that cannot be beaten.

Any idea how much a new element is likely to cost?
