Indesit DG6145 dishwasher trips house

My Indesit dishwasher trips the house shortly after the fill cycle starts.

It's not the element as the water doesn't get to that level & it trips on each programme.

Any ideas???

You obviously have a serious earth or short circuit on the machine and sounds as though it is activated by the water entering it. You have a lethal machine here if it trips the house as you say. Switch off and unplug it and if you don't already understand enough about the machine and how to use test equipment to find the fault, then either get a qualified person to look at it or throw it away and replace it.

I'm going to test the water shut-off solenoid at the weekend & work from there. the hardest part will be getting the thing apart.

I might also borrow the PAT tester from work.
