Bosch Dishwasher

I have a 3 year old Bosch Dishwasher, it will not drain after washing. I located a plastic strip around the pump impeller, removed it and it still wont empty the water.

Does the pump run now.

You can test it by running it with a separate power lead.

If a pump impeller gets stuck the motor can start drawing more power to try and get it to move which can end up with the windings burning out or on some pump motors the thermal fuse blowing.

I am not confident enough to wire up the pump, so I will probably just buy a new one. I will start searching the net for best prices.

check the wiring is ok to the pump
can be seen from the front or off the left side

Hi all
Just went back (hour ago) in to look at the wires as suggested and took the pump out again. Found another piece of elesticated plastic wrapped around the rear of the impeller, removed it and ran a rinse cycle and it emptied. So fingers crossed it is fixed.
