My Bosch SGS45E02GB stopped working properly 2 weeks ago.

I checked for blockages in the machine and the water inlet and outlet. All seemed ok per normal maintenance instructions - it just didn't complete cycles.

Also when the door was open it no longer cut out.

I left it over Christmas and now it does not work at all. When the machine is switched on, it sounds like it is about to start, however, nothing happens (i.e. no water at all).

If it is not too technical i'll have a go myself.

Any help please?

Probably water in the base,put a couple of towels on the floor and tip the machine backwards.If water comes out you need to remove lid and side panels to try and work out where its leaking.

I tipped machine back as you said, but no water came out. I opened the caps on the inside and tried again - just some water came out of the wells at the bottom into the machine itself. But when I tried it on a rinse cycle it has started. touch wood it has worked!

It has another 12 minutes to go and then I'll give it a go on a real load of dishes.

p.s. they have not been sitting all over christmas, though I was tempted!

oh, well.

no it didn't work.

switched on and promised to go, but no joy.

any other ideas?

if it still runs with door open you have a prob with door switch needs replaceing ,also clean pipe under the plinth its a pressure pipe ,remove the very lower panel and remove pipe or blow though it
