Have had insulation resistance checked and ite 2,000 ohms ( 2k )
I have been told it may be carbon from the brushes coating the backplate of the motor ? Any thoughts??
Who checked the insulation resistance and what did they test?
IR measurement are normally in mega-ohms, not kilo-ohms!
If you equate your reading into mega ohms, it would pass the tests.
Are you sure it was not a continuity test?
Tested with a megger cm500 installation tester.
both power pind shorted out measured to earth pin at plug.
more than 299 mohms untill the machine turned to any "ON" setting, then drops to 2 k....
the guy who tested is a sparky type but knows a little bit about other stuff.
