Can anybody help with some clues as to how to reassemble a window, which theoretically only opens on the bottom hinges, or if you move the lever, will hinge on the side.
Came adrift in me 'and, guv.
All I want to do is get the window secure!

This is known as a tilt and turn window

It sounds like the manufacturer did not fit a mishandling device

I take it you know have 3 corners "disconnected"

I normally find that to close the sash push it as close to the frame as you can and with the help of a friend push all the corners that are "disconnected" and alternate the handle position between the tilt and the turn positions the corners will begin to re-engage.

without a mishandling device fitted it is imperative that the window is fully closed when switching from tilt to turn or vise versa
