There is a small bramble bush in the front garden of the property I am moving to. I would like to kill it while it is still small - if this is possible! What would be the best way please?
Advice appreciated..........

Chop back all the branches to improve access.
Then dig out the main root bowl using a pick or similar tool.
With a bit of luck you should be able to transplant this elsewhere in the garden if you so wish.

Will try and dig it out but know the roots go deep and new plants sprout from any broken roots! Will also zap it with weedkiller, just not sure which type would be effective.

Sadly I will not be transplanting it to another part of the garden!

It is not an effective time to be applying systematic selective weed killer at the moment, as the plant is dormant. By all means dig it out, but be prepared to use weedkiller in spring when re-growth may occur.

... and to spray repeatedly to kill the regrowth. You may need to spray regularly for a year. If you put a lawn in you will still need to spray, but mowing the tops off will prevent it getting big.
