I am digging out and replacing some blown bricks as in a previous post, and I am also putting in 3 rows of blues to help out with a damp problem at the bottom and also repointing the bits that are shot in the other part of the road facing wall.

My question is : What is the right ratio/mix I would need to complete the job and would the same ratio/mix be good for both jobs?

The old mix looks to have a yellowish tint to it, I'm not bothered about that matching but just want to make sure I get the right mix for my bricklaying!

for replacing the bricks use a 1:4 cement sand mix for the pointing use a 1:1:6 mix cement lime sand. the yellow tinge probably comes from the sand colour .
