Hi there,
I'm going to put a bio ethanol burner inset into a granite plate which will rest on about three course of brickwork raising the floor of the builders opening of my fire place.
The problem is that the burner requires 230mm of depth and the depth of the fire place is 360mm. The only thing I can think of doing is using paving bricks on their side, which will give me the space between the front wall and back supporting wall to slot in the burner.
I hope that makes sense!
My question is really whether a 50mm thick wall of about 250mmm high will much too weak?
Love any advice you've got
Thanks
