Hi
Can anyone confirm my assertion that the detail shown here from NHBC is not actually achievable?
How can one have the brickwork finish level with the top of the joists, so that the OSB deck and insulation can sail across the cavity, and deck sit on the brick wall, when firring strips need to be added to the joists?
Would you bring the brickwork up higher, and have the deck and insulation sit *up to* the inside of the brickwork rather than across it? But then the edge of the insulation and deck is just floating?
I’m not keen on a chunk of timber on top of that deck either, would rather bring brickwork up again, is that normal / any reason not to?
thanks!
