Bristan Electric Shower not getting as hot as normal

Hi,

I have a Bristan electric shower which is coming up to being 2 years old. To get up to full temp 44 degrees, I am having to turn the dial to max when normally I only have to turn to 3/4 of the way round.

Any ideas?

2/3 years with constant use is reasonable these days, heating element might be breaking down slowly or "furred up" due to hard water

Also there is the point that the shower is using direct mains pressure which is coming in from underground, being middle of winter the original water temperature will be a few degrees down on Mid Summer Use, especially first thing in the mornings.
