Sons house had 2 x bristan bar mixer showers., dont know exact model number .. after just 3 yrs one of them just came out cold.. thought it may be the thermostat but just bought another Bristan mixer shower to just do a simple like for like change..
now the same has happened on the 2nd shower !!.. cant get it hot.. could anyone advise one how to strip it down to change the thermostat. have read about changing thermostats on these forums but which side is the thermostat ?? could i just descale it or what. ? it seems very poor that this is has happened on 2 showers you would like to think one of them lasts for yrs .... or am i thinking they dont make them how they used to ???
thanks for any help/advice on stripping it down

Don't buy Bristan bar mixers. I have had several with the same problem.

Thanks for the helpful comments as well as the upsetting one advising dont buy a Bristan .... lol

i have included some photos.. have some further questions
How do you find the model name or number as the Bristan bar showers that I look at just have the name Bristan on it
Do the parts as you strip it down have a code number so you know exact part to order..
Is there any way you can have a go at cleaning/descaling the cartridge to get it to work
i cant see how there can be anything serious...can the cartridge not just be cleaned ? as it has only had water pass through it or is there some intricate moving part that gets worn..
as i read in a few earlier posts they mentioned the cartridge and how expensve it is considering the cost of the showers from new .. and they are !
