Hi,

Is it possible to build your own bath?

e.g. Build a retaining wall, add a waterproof lining and tile it a bit like it was a small swimming pool.

(I appreciate it is probably a very nieve question)

It is and I know someone who did just that!

BUT... its not very suitable for bathing!

The volume is so very much greater and there is no curved end to lie onto.

Furthermore its quite dangerous because its so hard if you slip or fall onto it as there is no "give".

We built a large hot tub over in france last year constructing it with marine ply then tanked it with a Mira membrane and then mosaic tiles.
It turned out fab fitting exactly into the room we had at a fraction of the price including jets, pump and lighting. We angled the sides to lie against and installed rubber bump stops to sit on for comfort.
Everone who uses it loves it especially after a day skiing.

That's great, thanks.

Will probably just buy a shower-bath though, although the possibility is exciting...
