What powers do Building Control have? Or are they just an advisory body? Can they tag an address to show that it has had work done on it which can be picked up when a solicitor does their checks if the house in the process of being sold?

Note that they also on eof the few authorities that have a power of entry without a warrant!

Yes it happens frequently with searches & can cause problems & expense when selling, it can often result in a potential buyer walking away!
 
Guess so; OP seems to have posted multiple questions about the same problem which makes it a bit confusing; it’s already caught me out once!
