Hope someone can advise.

Looking at building a new side gate for my garden rarher than buying. It will be about 6ft tall by just over 3ft wide. My thinking is that its just a cade of getting pieces of timber, and then putting a couple of batens on the reverse.

My question is that I'll probably be getting wood from B&Q but unsure on what type of wood and size I should be thinking about.

Many thanks

Fully tanalised (pressure treated) timber, and sight down each leg checking for warps.
Use exterior quality adhesive and plated screws.
John :)

Make sure you use diagonal braces or it will sag badly in the medium-long term and not stay square.
