Building garden wall

I am planning on removing the wooden fence which separates me and my neighbours back gardens, so do i need planning permission, and what it the maximum height i can build it. not sure if it matters but i live in Northern Ireland and the planning regulations might be different from the UK mainland

I'm not too sure what differences there may be in Northern Ireland, but over here, we refer to this...

Your best bet would be to contact your local planning department and ask them the question, which may involve you writing in with some drawings/details.

As it's now built, what did you do about obtaining the necessary planning permission (if required)... as that was the reason you came on here in the first place?

I didn't need planning permission as it was not going to be more than 2 meters high.
