Building open porch but should I go with brick pillars?

Going to have a pitched roof over the door which is about 12 foot wide so need 2 pillars to support it but not sure whether to go with brick pillars or some other alternative? Do quite like the idea of having white decorative round pillars but havent a clue how to go about it.

Any suggestions?
