Can anyone advise what the building requlations are for repalcing a cast iron pipe with a plastic soil pipe. Is there anything i should be aware of as the buiding inspector is due to check the job after completion.

The cast iron pipe has been broken where it connects the clay pipe on the floor so the whole cast iron pipe needs removing - any suggestions on what to use to connect the plastic to clay (the clay pipe measures just under 100mm and is too small for the plastic to fit in ((i think)).

Also what height does the bird cage (top of pipe) have to be away from the nearest window.

And finally waht distant do th brackets need to be from each other.

Any replys will be much appreaciated

T  hanks in advance

1) You can buy a rubber coupler.

2) 900 mm above window if stack is within 3 metres of window

3) Can't help you on this one. :D

Ask the nice man if you can replace it with plastic before you start.
