I seem to recall that a m2 of sand weighs 2.2ton, but I should check with a few building suppliers to be sure, as it's been a long time since I was a trowel warrior and the old brain in getting a bit spongy..

Been away from the forum for a while (shame ) but back again now, hope you are keeping well
The project we are doing calls for an amount of sand to be layed down for a butyl liner to sit on, however, the manufacturer specs the sand in cubes not in weight or bags which is a pain.
I was wondering if a bit of old fashioned guessing might do the job, ie a big bag of sand weighs between 0.85 and 0.95 ton, how near to a cubic meter is a big bag (load it with a fork lift type bag i mean)
