sorry, i dont have the machine number to hand.

i have just moved in to a flat that has a service washer dryer. i tried it for teh first time the other day and it took in water fine, went through the program fine, pumped out the water fine then seemed to finish.

it sat for several minutes with some noise coming from it - the buzzing/ticking noise you hear from the machine when it is waiting/thinking.

during this time a burning smell started to come from it and heat was coming from the back-top of it.

i turned it off immediatley on the machine and the mains.

the programme was a quick wash - it wasnt a heat spin.

can anyone point to the the component that is most likely to be broken/burning?

i have never used a a waser dryer before. is it possible that after every cycle it automatically goes into dryer mode? could it have been the thing heating up? although, it didnt smell like burnin dust (as it has been lying vacant for around 5 months).

any ideas would be vety much appreciated!

cheers!
