I have my front room lights on a dimmer switch.

Even when they are full on after about 5 mins I start to get a buzzing sound from them the longer you leave them on the louder the buzzing (up until a certain point).

Do I need to fit some sort of transformer into the loop somewhere to get rid of this ?.

dimmer switches all have the tendency to buzz, the cheaper the dimmer switch the louder the buzzzz!!!!!!!!!!

if the noise is really that unbearable, I'd opt for a new quality dimmer switch. Make sure you go for the right one, there are 2 types, one that conrols high voltage lighting and the other that controls low voltage.

Thanks,

The dimmer switch I have is the flush mounted black chone remote control one.

The light is made up of 12 mini 20w led bulbs.
I'm guessing I need a new low voltage quality dimmer switch.

Thanks for the info.

a 20 watt LED lamp would probably illuminate wembley stadium, if it were available. Do you mean halogen capsule lamps?

You need a fitting that can be dimmed, and a dimmer than can dim it!
