The actuator head sometimes buzzes quite loudly, when it’s just moved from ‘A+B’ to ‘A’ position (CH only). Very occasionally it starts when it’s been in ‘A’ position for a while. Powering off/on to reset to valve into the ‘A’ position usually stops it. Sometimes a light(!) tap with a hammer stops it too.

Does this sound like the actuator head needs replacing, or just the motor, or are there any adjustments available in the movement?

Thanks for all advice.

The only thing you could do is check the single screw holding the motor is tight.

If it still buzzes then the slot fixing on the opposite of the motor could be bent a little tighter in case that helps.

Apart from buzzing is it really causing you any problem?

Hi Tony, the buzz is annoying in the early morning
and I wonder whether there is a failure coming up sometime.
But at the moment the system still seems to work ok - 25 years old.

I'll check the screw etc in the morning.
