Adobe has completely goosed our home computer. We need someone to give the whole thing a good clearout. Any suggestions?

Sorry no idea about the computer repairers

Have you tried a system restore - (Never worked for me!)

As what you are saying is Sofware related, hopefully you will uninstall the offending Adobe (you can always put it back later!). But since things can frequently linger in the registry (Windows systems) I have always used Nortons Systemworks Basic edition and the included WinDoctor to tidy things up.

From time to time I have to visit my Wifes PC also used by Junior!
It's may be running slow, or not properly and so Running Windoctor is usually the first thing I do after making sure that any recent installations are removed if they are not what I am happy with!. Let it fix things automatically unless you know better!

Why don't you have a go at doing it yourself? There's a plethora of free software to help you.

Spybot is handy for removing dead DLL's, leftover installation files, etc
Hijack this can be good if you've a probem with pop ups or similar
CC cleaner used to be alright - not used it for years though.

Just prepare prior to the cleaning. Backup you data, make a list of the programs you have and want to keep, note any registration keys you have.

People here will always help.
