I am inserting a stud wall into my garage and I was a little concerned about drilling the bottom plate of my stud wall into my solid concrete garage floor.
I am worried because I have no idea if the floor has a damp course membrane underneath the concrete and if I drill into it can I get damp?
Im using 80mm masonry screws and the wood thickness is 38mm.
Is that possible damp could come through or is all ok?
I've never had damp issues in the garage.
Also when building the stud wall (the one im building is square) so I'm having my top and bottom plate, one fixed to the wall (and the one's in between and noggins etc) but as your doing the corner section the joint, would that require two timber pieces or is one fine?
