Hi All,

We have a small (2m x 1m) hallway porch which has some old carpet on top of floorboards (no underlay) and I want to lay some new carpet on top of this. Basically using the old carpet as an underlay. There's no carpet grippers apart from at the end of the run as it meets the inner hallway door. Is it okay to lay carpet like this?

Cheers
Daz

Yes. I've come across this a few times (concrete or flag floors, old draighty houses)

So 2m x 1m, splash out and buy some underlay and get rid of the manky old carpet.
