Can I paint straight onto new concrete?

I've just had a new concrete garage base put in and want to paint the floor after I've fitted the garage. Do I need to seal it with anything before I paint it with floor paint?

I want to make sure it doesn't all start peeling away after a little while?

I used some Ronseal Heavy Duty floor paint recently and on the tin it recommends the following for bare concrete:

Allow newly laid concrete to cure for t least 1 month.

Wire brush thoroughly and seal with a forst coat of of floor paint thinned with 10% white spirit.
