Hi, we recently pulled up the carpet in our kitchen to find a very uneven floor. The floor is half floorboards with a large concrete L shape through the middle (presumably an old wall?). The floorboards have then been covered with masonite to bring it level with the concrete.
We were hoping to get the old floorboards restored but we have been informed this would involve building a new sub floor and laying new boards. I was wondering if there was a way around rebuilding the sub floor and then we could potentially lay a floating floor, tiles or vinyl instead of using the old floorboards? Is it possible to level something this bad?
