The nationalised co. would spank the pants off the privatised co
It doesn't work that way I'm afraid; they are both same company, just different owners. British rail was atrocious for it service, delays and strikes, hmm, so's most of the privatised companies. And if they get nationalised, it'll be the same management, the same drivers, and the same unions, except the unions would escelate the strikes way beyond what a private company would allow, as there's no shareholdes to answer to.
The sandwiches were always dry, and the selection was limited, but the fares were lower when it was BR. The staff were all jobsworths, but polite and helful, wereas now they are polite, and unhelful jobsworths.
So as always, yer pays yer money, and take yer choice.
