I want to purchase a runner for my stairs and fit with stair rods. However, the staircase turns and I am not sure how I go about measuring for this. The carpet will run up the centre of the stairs allowing the stair to show on each side. Can I purchase an 'off the shelf' runner where the width is continuous or do I have to have one specially made to incorporate the turnings?

you have to fit the carpet over sized to the winders and then trim to the correct size while fitted. Then remove it and get the edge of the carpet whipped.

So in other words buying a ready made runner wont work.
