caulking skirting and architrives

Can i caulk the gap between skirtings and architrives if they are pine, and then paint over caulk with wall colour? thx

yes you can.

it is better to prime any woodwork first as this will highlight any gaps or 'dark spots' and identify what needs filling.

this applies to walls too.

The woodwork has had a coat of pine stain, so its ok to use caulk for the gaps?

ye you can caulk the gaps what i would do it get a brown colour tube off caulk it will look better than white caulk. carl

wouldn't white caulk colour with the pine stain tho?
