Hi, anybody tell me whether I need to get a block wall that has a cavity rendered or is it ok to leave unrendered?

I had a conservatory built about 10 years ago and one length of wall which is on the party wall side was not rendered.
My neighbour is having an extension built which will be quite close to this wall and their builder suggested that I get it rendered before they start buil
