hi i have been having problems with light it is a 3 way spot light type. i have taken this down and i want to replace with normal ceiling rose pendant type which i bought from wicks. on disconnecting there is 2 wires coming in twin and earth and i am not sure where in the new rose to connect each terminal as the layout is different than the 3 way spot light.
any advice ty

thanks for response diagram helped a lot just confused about which is the switch cable as whoever installed didnt put tape around to identify

If you have a bog standard switch it should be easy enough to check out with a multimeter set to ohms range. Connect the meter across 1 set of red/black wires whilst someone operates the switch, you should see it go from high resistance to almost zero resistance. If not, try the other cable. Whichever one does this is the switch wire. Sleeve the black wire red to signify this.
