I note that my 3 way mid position valve is warm when the system is powered up but the timmer has both CH and W off if the valve is in the CH position but is cold if the system was last on W only with valve in W only position. Normal ?

Ah I see, if I set the controls so the system always finishes on water then I might extended the valve life a little and save a few p on electric.....
