HI!
I have an old Vaillant VCW 242 EH in my house running 6 radiators, 3 up and 3 down.
I have just got around to controlling the system with a thermostat.
I am finding that with the boiler set on 5 (about half way position) the boiler doesn't fire for very long at all before switching off again. One of the radiators upstairs is off and one nearly off on a TRV. I notice that the outlet pipe from the boiler soon gets very hot and the inlet still cold. Could there be some kind of circulation problem???? The pump seems to go fine. I have just taken the end screw out today and looks to be spinning like a good one. Could there be something else?? Bunged radiators? Valves not working properly??? If I bang the temp switch on the boiler up to max it all seems to work fine but a bit over the top for this time of year!!!
Many thanks!
