Noticed last night the house had got really hot. Thought it was a problem with out old analogue Honeywell room thermostat and ordered a new one last night. Never thought any more of it.
Woke up this morning and the house was really hot and the radiators were really hot. Again thought it was the thermostat and turned the central heating off completely, leaving the hot water on. However, the radiators continued to blaze away. Thought maybe I turned the wrong thing off and turned off the hot water and turned the central heating back on. Same thing, radiators blazing away, however I don't think the water is getting hot. I can understand the radiators blazing away if the thermostat is faulty, but why are they still on when I turn the central heating off. Wonder if there was always a problem with the two systems but it was never a problem when the room thermostat worked?
It's a standard gas boiler set up with radiators and a megaflo tank in the airing cupboard.
Any ideas as to what could be wrong and would you expect the thermostat to fix it?
