Hi all,
I've come back here for some advice after you guys helped me out no end last time.
We have an open vented system with an old Potterton Flamingo boiler and a Wilo Gold RS50 pump.
Had terrible issues after draining the system down previously but everything has been working great until the weekend and we now have cold rads all round.
The boiler will fire up, hot water is passing through the pump and to the inlet of the upstairs rads but no further than that.
After doing some investigating I’ve found that the pump has stopped working – there doesn’t seem to be any power getting to the pump. I’ve checked that the pump turns with a screwdriver and it’s not seized up – it just seems completely void of power.
I’ve traced down from the pump and the power source is a 3a switch which also powers the timing unit to the boiler which is still working – so I’m thinking it must be a fault with the pump itself rather than electrical (although I stand to be corrected).
Providing I’m right and it is a pump issue, are there any spare parts that are easily available that may ‘blow’ on a central heating pump or would I be better off replacing it?
Cheers
