Central Heating header tank question.

Hi,

I am planning a loft extension and want to add a radiator in the new room. I have a normal open vented heating system that is in good working order.

Is there a minimum height that the header tank has to be above the heighest radiator on the system for the radiator/system to work efficiently?

Your help would be appreciated.
