Hi

When I run my CH everything seems fine at first, rads heat up (though not overly hot) then after a while the boiler starts making load noises and the rads go cool. On of the pipes coming out of the top of the boiler is so hot I would take the skin off your fingers. So I have to turn it off

Pump seems to be running fine

Any ideas?

2 storey house, 7 rads, Grunfoss 15-50 pump, Gloworm spacesvaer Rf boiler

Sounds like a job for a RGI as the dodgy bit is probably within the sealed case.

IT could be a few things, The first one being a faulty boiler stat. If you turn the boiler on from cold (ie In the morning) and all your rads are getting nice and hot then they get very hot before the noise in the boiler starts, then the chance's are its the stat. Or if again from cold the rads dont get hot but the boiler gets very hot it could either be the pump or may be the diverter valve (if on is fitted) or possibly the room stat which supplies power to both the pump and diverter valve

Thanks for the replys guys.

It would appear that the room stat is getting to temp and doing what it should but the boiler is still churning away with the water then not going anywhere. I think it may be the thermocouple in the boiler that needs replacing
